Ristorante Rossini
About This Spot
Stepping into Ristorante Rossini, nestled quietly along Schönlaterngasse in Vienna’s historic first district, feels like being gently welcomed into a lively Italian family gathering. The soft clatter of dishes, warm exchanges between both staff and diners, and the inviting aroma of fresh herbs and baking dough create a space that’s buzzing but never rushed — a place where time flows comfortably, marked by shared stories and memorable meals.
The atmosphere here is authentically vibrant, carrying whispers of an Italian trattoria where the focus is as much on connection as on cuisine. Many locals find themselves returning again and again, drawn not only by the open kitchen’s promise of rustic pizzas with perfectly blistered crusts or pastas dressed in rich, soulful sauces, but by the genuine warmth threaded through every interaction. Whether you’re sliding into the corner for an intimate dinner or joining friends over hearty plates, the room hums with good-natured energy and easy conversation.
The menu at Rossini offers more than just classic Italian options — it’s a showcase of thoughtfully prepared dishes that invite exploration. From the fresh tang of a cleverly dressed arugula salad to the satisfying layers of a slow-baked lasagna, every bite reflects a quiet reverence for traditional flavors, brought to life with fresh ingredients and gentle attention. Pizzas topped with creamy buffalo mozzarella and thoughtfully chosen toppings feel like small celebrations in themselves, while pastas speak of comforting, home-cooked secrets passed down through generations.
Dining here is less about spectacle and more about savoring moments of calm joy amid a lively backdrop. It’s this blend of quality food, attentive service, and a genuine sense of place that leaves visitors feeling comfortably grounded in the city but whisked away to the warmth of an Italian table. Ristorante Rossini is not just a meal, but a heartfelt invitation — to savor slowly, reconnect with good company, and discover a little piece of Italy in the heart of Vienna.

We shared pasta and pizza. They we're delicious! The service was great too. They only took cash which was ok by us. The food is super high quality and tasty, and the atmosphere is very nice,I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to eat Italian food.

I highly recommend this place if you want to have the best taste of Italy in the heart of Vienna. Been here many times and as always they don't disappoint, from the best starters to the cheesy, flavorful pizzas and perfectly cooked pastas. The desserts are also a must-try. You can enjoy the best food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. My personal favorites are the Vitello tonnato, lasagne al forno, Calzone, grilled Polpo.

For me, the best pizza in Vienna! I've been eating here for many years, and the service is always top-notch, and the pizza is the best. 5/5 stars for me

A busy place with a lot of locals dining. We were able to get a table without a reservation for dinner. Service was good, again, considering how busy. We split a pizza and salad. The pizza was delicious, very well prepared. Also, the salad was great. Good ambience, but with so many people, a bit on the loud side. A great find.

A super lunch of pasta and pizza. The linguini gamberi took us back to our favourite restaurant in Venice... And a warm welcome with excellent service. Highly recommended!
